A major cold front is expected to hit Western North Carolina next week, worsening an already dire situation for thousands of families left homeless after Hurricane Helene. With an early Winter setting in, at least a thousand people, including children, are at risk. Many are still living in makeshift shelters such as tents, cars and campers. The looming cold front could threaten their lives again, further highlighting the failures of Biden’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) nearly two months after Helene’s devastation.
Meteorologist Joe Bastardi’s weather models predict a sharp drop in temperatures across Asheville and other parts of the region. With lows expected to dip below freezing, the crisis there could escalate further, putting already vulnerable residents at even greater risk. On social media, Bastardi expressed frustration with the federal government’s response, calling for immediate action to ensure that people are properly sheltered in the coming days.
“Attention Joe Biden or whoever is running this country — it’s 24/7 all hands-on deck this week for Helene-ravaged areas to make sure people are sheltered properly for the coming cold. The blundering so far has been inexcusable. You have a chance to finish strong here,” Bastardi wrote on X.
In Swannanoa, a town near Asheville, “tent cities” now dot the landscape, populated by families struggling to survive the elements. Local media reports paint a grim picture, with WLOS reporting that “hundreds of local families are left with nowhere to go.” In Buncombe County alone, officials from the Family Resource Center have identified over 1,150 homeless children — some of whom are living in tents or cars. As of the latest figures, nearly 900 new homeless students have been identified in the area since the storm.
FEMA’s continued apathy toward this region has led to widespread accusations of mismanagement and malfeasance, with many questioning the prioritization of resources and the nefarious political motivations of the current regime. The federal government has failed to provide adequate shelter to American victims. Instead, they’ve allocated those funds to house illegal immigrants in hotels, and continue to write blank checks to prop up a war in Ukraine.
Shawn Hendrix, a survival expert, first responder and community advocate, has been leading efforts on the ground through Operation Shelter. Hendrix, who has been working tirelessly to deliver aid to affected families, expressed disbelief at the lack of FEMA presence. “Whole families are living in tents. These people need help. It’s a disgrace that they’re being left to freeze while FEMA does nothing,” Hendrix said.
Since Helene, citizens across the United States have responded with humanitarian aid, allowing thousands of displaced individuals a fighting chance to survive and retain their land. But many are still homeless, vulnerable to a suspiciously-early winter, with temperatures dropping fast.
The issue of neglect is compounded by recent political revelations at FEMA. A senior FEMA official was caught in a leaked message saying FEMA workers were instructed to avoid helping Trump supporters. Another fired FEMA supervisor claimed that this political bias was widespread within the agency. These revelations have led to a firestorm of criticism, with Americans accusing FEMA of prioritizing divisive political agendas over disaster relief.
To make matters worse, reports show that FEMA’s budget has already been strained by international aid spending. Moreover, the agency has been accused of squandering taxpayer money on “equity” programs and laundering money for housing illegal immigrants, with $640 million recently allocated to assist migrants, including luxury hotel accommodations and meals.
With these America-last policies still in place two months after Hurricane Helene, and with no reconciliation in FEMA’s priorities, many are wondering if there is a more nefarious plot against American citizens. Is the weather being modified and weaponized to push people out of the region, so the land can be confiscated? Is the corrupt Biden regime selling out Americans to benefit from multinational mining operations or other global industrial pursuits? Is the complete disregard for rural conservative communities part of a grander political war, where federal agencies are weaponized for political purposes?
